The workshop offers an introduction to historical dance technique and repertoire. Its main purpose is to offer participants experience in several different dance forms. The focus will be on Renaissance and Baroque dance forms:

  • Renaissance Dance: The basic steps for the Pavane, Gaillard, Branle
  • Baroque Dance: The basic steps for the Bourrée, Gavotte, Rigaudon, Sarabande, Menuet, Chaconne, Passacaille, Gigue etc.

Participants should bring rehearsal clothing (which should be comfortable to dance in), and very flexible shoes (with or without heel, but flexible) or socks.
