Cappella Pratensis

Cappella Pratensis, the eight-voice Dutch vocal ensemble sings Missa de Sancto Donatiano, written to commemorate the death of Donaes de Moor in 1493. A few personal texts and tunes woven within the counterpoint subtly connect the man to the mass. Cappella Pratensis’s performance reconstructs the surrounding ritual by adding plainsongs that praise Saint Donation, patron saint of Bruges.
