Dallas Fort Worth's Renaissance Polyphony Weekend is a 2.5-day singers' retreat, focusing on the polyphonic church music of the Renaissance, including masses, vespers, motets, and Gregorian chant. The retreat, led by Dr. William Mahrt of Stanford University, is now in its 22nd year. Singers meet on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday to learn one of the great polyphonic works of the Renaissance, along with related motets and chant. They then sing the works as part of a Latin service on Sunday afternoon. Rehearsals and the Mass (or Vespers) are at Church of the Holy Cross, 4502 Herschel Ave., Dallas.
