Italian Renaissance Dance
This series of introductory-level workshops offer a sampling of three sorts of historical dance: French dances of the 16th century (branles, pavanes, gailliards, and canaries); Italian couple dances in duple, triple, and compound meter; and dances of the late 17th and early 18th centuries (bourrée, gavotte, sarabande, gigue, menuet). For dancers or others with some dance experience, though not necessarily early dance. Students may register for any or all of the three workshops.
Advance registration required.
