Cristiano Giuseppe Lidarti completed his opera/oratorio "Esther" (t'shuat Yisrael al y'dei Ester) telling the story of the valiant Queen Esther and her rescue of the Jewish people from the wicked Haman in 1774.  Recently rediscovered in 1999 San Francisco Renaissance Voices under the direction of Todd Jolly, gives this work its US premiere; our stellar choristers will be accompanied by chamber orchestra for this rare musical event during the Purim season - and DO come in costume and bring your noisemakers!
