The French overture, typically characterized by a slow introduction followed by a lively fugue, became such a prevalent baroque musical form that many German composers embraced it. This Belgian baroque orchestra directed by Paul Dombrecht, with three oboes, bassoon, nine strings and continuo, will play overtures by Fasch and Telemann, a suite by J. S. Bach, and an oboe concerto by Heinichen.
