Though Gregorio Allegri is best known for his famous setting of the Miserere, written while he was a singer in the Sistine Chapel Choir, he composed a large body of remarkable music. The concert will feature the first North American performance of Allegri’s luminous Missa Christus resurgens, along with Renaissance motets for the Easter season by Allegri, Palestrina, Josquin and Anerio, all of which would have been sung by the Papal Choir of the Sistine Chapel.
