Seicento Baroque Ensemble, Colorado's premier choir to specialize in historically-informed performance practice, presents gems of the early baroque with Czech Mate! Music for Singers, Strings and Sackbuts From an amazing but largely unfamiliar collection of choral compositions of the 17th century, the ensemble performs from the unpublished repertoire of the Kremsier Archives in the now Czech Republic. With music by Rittler, Merula, Carissimi, Mielczewski and others, the successful new choir, Seicento, welcomes guest members of the Washington (DC) Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble Amsterdam-based baroque violinist Mimi Mitchell, vocal soloists Amanda Balestrieri, Marjorie Bunday, Robert Avrett, and recently-selected Artistic Apprentice in Early Music Performance, tenor Christian Sanders.
