Seicento Baroque Ensemble, Colorado's premier choir specializing in the historic performance of baroque music, presents gems of the early baroque with: Czech Mate!  Music for Singers, Strings, and Sackbuts.  From an amazing but largely unknown collection of great compositions of the 17th century, Artistic Director Evanne Browne has selected a mostly-unpublished repertoire highlighting the beautiful combination of sackbuts and strings.   With music of Mielczewski, Rittler, Merula, Carissimi and others, the successful new choir, Seicento, also welcomes guest members of the Washington Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, Amsterdam-based baroque violinist Mimi Mitchell, with vocal soloists Amanda Balestrieri, soprano; Marjorie Bunday, alto; Robert Avrett, bass; and recently-selected Artistic Apprentice in Early Music Performance, tenor Christian Sanders.
