Special Guest Artist John Lenti, theorbo, and guest artists, Daniel Gainey, tenor; Mary Hostetler Hoyt and Erika Cutler, Baroque violins; Ensemble members Jean Hein, recorders; Timothy Hein, Baroque recorders; Brittnee Siemon, mezzo soprano; Gail Ann Schroeder, viola da gamba; and Jerry Curry, harpsichord.

The Columbia Baroque Soloists will present Le Jardin de Monsieur Lully with special guest artist and Greenwood native, John Lenti, theorbo, plus guest artists Daniel Gainey, tenor; Mary Hostetler Hoyt and Erika Cutler, Baroque violins as our final Main Stage event of the 2013-2014 season.  Le Jardin de Monsieur Lully will take place at Columbia College on Sunday, April 13.  "Concert Conversations," the preconcert talk will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the concert at 4:30 p.m.

Jean-Baptiste Lully cultivated a new style of French Baroque music that was soon being emulated throughout Europe.  The ensemble takes you on a spring tour in Mr. Lully's garden of delights with vocal and instrumental excerpts from Lully's opera, Armide, along with instrumental compositions by two of Lully's proteges; Marin Marais and Jean-Fery Rebel.
