This gorgeous program features Boston Baroque’s acclaimed chorus in ensemble and solo roles directed by Martin Pearlman. Carissimi’s expressive and poignant oratorio "Jephte" is followed by Charpentier’s harmonically rich and introspecive mass "Assumpta est Maria" and Bach’s deeply moving cantata "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit". Handel's youthful Chandos Anthem No. 8 "O Come, Let us Sing unto the Lord!" ends the concert on a brilliant note.
