Return to America’s folk roots: rousing hymns, Appalachian foot-stomping songs, Southern Harmony shape-note singing, and Shaker spirituals--the music that gave birth to bluegrass. The Roots of Bluegrass explores our country’s musical heritage with close vocal harmonies, banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and bass. This program toured Minnesota last fall and was so successful that we're bringing it to seven new cities: Rochester, Mankato, Saint Cloud, Morris, Marshall, Redwood Falls and Willmar. Daytime outreach programs will take place in veterans’ homes, assisted living facilities and schools.
