Personal Summary / Bio
I am a graduate of the Purchase Conservatory of Music, Purchase NY, where I studied Historical Brass Performance (cornetto) and Musicology. This was an interdisciplanary degree that I designed along with Conservatory staff, and it was the first of its kind at Purchase College.
Since graduating, I have been awarded the Artist-in-Resdience Scholarhip to study with Bruce Dickey at the San Francisco Early Music Society's Med/Ren Workshop, and I am writing an article for the International Trumpet Guild Journal on 17th Century Cornetto repertoire.
I am also Program Annotator and Administrative Assistant for the New York Chamber Brass. NYCB is a premier New York City brass quintet comprised of the following artists: Graham Ashton, founding member and trumpet; Rich Clymer, trumpet; Kyle Turner, tuba; Peter Reit, horn; Tim Albright, trombone.
