Personal Summary / Bio

Michel Angers, theorbist and guitarist, was awarded a bachelor's and master's degree in classical and baroque guitar from Laval University under the direction of professors Jacques Chandonnet, Rémi Boucher, François Leclerc and Richard Paré. Awarded highest distinction from Québec Music Conservatory under Paul-André Gagnon, Michel Angers received grants from many cultural organizations as Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, Quebec’s Council for the Arts and Early Music America. He plays in numerous artistic projects for various ensembles and as a soloist in America and Europe. He recorded with Gravitación for label First Step records; and in duet with soprano Peggy Bélanger for Italian label Stradivarius. Twice a scholar of the Marco Fodella Foundation, Michel Angers specialized in early music under Maestro Paul Beier, at the International Academy of Music in Milan.
