Musique Royale

Personal Summary / Bio

Musique Royale is a summertime celebration of Nova Scotia's musical heritage. A cross-province festival now in its 25th anniversary season, Musique Royale brings performances of early and traditional music to settings of historic and cultural significance within communities throughout the province.

St. John's Anglican Church, at the heart of old town Lunenburg - a UNESCO World Heritage site - is the primary venue for Musique Royale events.

Musicians from the local, national and international concert stage perform in over 20 communities each July and August. Musique Royale's summer festival also encompasses the Boxwood Workshop between July 25 and 31 in Lunenburg. This remarkable event is renowned world-wide as one of the top educational summer programmes centering on traditional and early music.

Wherever you are in Nova Scotia this summer, Musique Royale has a concert for you!
