Peter H. Bloom is a soloist and ensemble flutist who tours internationally and appears on 30 CDs from labels including Sony Classical, Newport Classics, Dorian and Leo Records.  The Boston Globe called his playing “a revelation for unforced sweetness and strength,” while Jazz Improv praised his “exquisite melody.”  He has given recitals from Boston to Bangkok and concertizes widely with classical and jazz ensembles such as Ensemble Chaconne, Olmsted Ensemble and the internationally acclaimed Aardvark Jazz Orchestra (now in its 36th season).  Winner of the American Musicological Society’s Noah Greenberg Award for his performance of 19th century American music, Mr. Bloom serves as historical performance consultant to The American Museum in Britain, The New-York Historical Society, and Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, where he has given numerous lecture-demonstrations and had recorded for the audio guide to musical instruments.
